About Me

Jim began his investment industry career in 1982 and joined Stifel in 2024. Prior to joining Stifel, he worked at Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms. The foundation of Jim’s practice is built on mitigating risk and developing and maintaining long-term relationships with his clients. Jim’s four decades of experience has helped him navigate through various business cycles and volatile markets.

When working with clients to address their wealth planning needs, Jim uses independent thought, intellectual capital, and a disciplined process. His core principle is: if you can mitigate risk successfully over time, the returns will take care of themselves.

Jim takes pride in having developed long-term relationships built on trust and confidence. Many of his clients have worked with him for decades, including families whom he has served for multiple generations. Through mutual trust and integrity, Jim is able to gain a deeper understanding of his clients’ financial lives.

Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in both Economics and English from Willamette University and holds the Certified Portfolio Manager® designation attained through the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers after completing the prerequisite coursework at Columbia University, covering topics such as portfolio management, financial statement analysis, corporate finance, fixed income analysis, fiduciary responsibility, and more. In addition, he holds Series 5, 7, 9 & 10, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses.

Outside the office, Jim enjoys golfing, playing guitar, and personal fitness. He is active in the community, serving as a high school football official.

About Me

Jessica began her financial services career in 2011 and joined Stifel in 2024. Prior to joining Stifel, she worked at Morgan Stanley as an intern and eventually became employed full time.  She previously held a marketing position at Sodexo at Linfield College, where she worked as the team lead in implementing marketing ideas and events, as well as pioneered a marketing strategy for events on campus. While working for the City of Salem, she established a recycling program for Wallace Marine Park that reduced waste and the cost for disposal. At Yamhill County Prevention against alcohol and substance abuse, she designed marketing literature to promote their programs and created public advertisements for upcoming events.

Jessica Rubino earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Linfield College. During her college years, she played on the first Wildcat NCAA Division III National Softball Championship Team in 2006.

Jessica is the friendly voice you will hear often when you call our office. She provides Jim and their clients with marketing and technical support. Additionally, her primary administrative role is in making sure clients’ transactional requests and needs are addressed consistently and appropriately.

Jessica was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. She enjoys outdoor activities, exercising, and spending time with her husband and growing family. She commits a good amount of time as a role model to her nieces and soon-to-be nephew, where she enjoys paying forward the building blocks that molded her growing up.

“Work ethic is important to me because of my competitive spirit; it doesn’t matter what I pick up, I want to do it to the best of my ability and efficiently.”
